BECOMING A SODALIST
"Behold how good and how pleasant a thing it is for brethren to dwell in one." (Ps. 132:1)
A Catholic girl or woman who has made her First Holy Communion and fulfills her Sunday and Holy Day obligation, can apply for the membership by contacting the President of the Sodality. The President presents the candidate's application to the Director, who has the final say if she is accepted or not.
The only obligation a Sodalist has is to attend the monthly meetings. The activities outside them are done in the different clubs of the Sodality.
The membership in the Sodality is meant mainly for girls and ladies attending St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church. If the candidate is from a good Catholic family but unable to attend the monthly meetings at St. Gertrude's, she can apply for the membership in diaspora, who meet regularly on the Internet. The applications to the diaspora membership are made to the leader of the Sodality's online club.
The enrollments to the Sodality are made at the community Mass on First Saturdays, before the monthly meeting. At the ceremony the new Sodalist will receive her medal and the cord of St. Francis of Paola.
