Sodality of Charity
BECOMING A SODALIST
"Behold how good and how pleasant a thing it is for brethren to dwell in one." (Ps. 132:1)
-
To enroll in the Sodality of Charity, a girl must first have made her First Communion. Enrollments are twice a year.
-
All members will receive a certificate of membership in the Sodality. The Director will say Mass once a month for all enrolled members.
-
There are no obligations for a Sodalist except to attend the monthly meetings.
-
On every First Wednesday of the month, every Sodalist is asked to perform some act of devotion in honor of St. Joseph, the patron of the Sodality, for example attending Mass, receiving Holy Communion, saying a prayer to St. Joseph, or doing some act of charity to her neighbor.
-
A Sodalist can “graduate” the Sodality once she reaches 18 years old by May. But she can also choose to remain as an active member.
