There are lots of important events taking place in February at St. Gertrude the Great. Here is the list, so you can keep up what is going on.
February 2, Wednesday: First Wednesday and Candlemas. Blessing of Candles and High Mass of Purification at 5:30 PM, followed by the annual Winter Soup Supper.
February 3, Thursday: Feast of St. Blaise and First Thursday. Blessing of throats follows the 11:25 AM Mass. You can also receive this blessing after all Masses on Sunday.
February 5, Saturday: First Saturday and feast of St. Agatha. After the 8:15 Benediction and Low Mass we will take down Christmas decorations. If you can, join and help out and bring breakfast food to share.
February 11, Friday: Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. This day we celebrate the 10th anniversary of ordination of Fr. McKenna. Solemn High Mass at 11:25 AM followed by pizza lunch at Helfta Hall.
February 13, Sunday: Septuagesima. St. Valentine's Day bake sale at Helfta Hall after morning Masses. If you want to help, you can bring your baked goods to sell.
February 26, Saturday: Feast of St. Margaret of Cortona. Our Sodality of Charity monthly meeting from 8:15 AM to 2 PM. A detailed program will be announced later.
Also keep in mind and prepare for the Seminarian Sunday on March 27.
