&
ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT CHURCH
GIRLS CAMP 2023
The annual Girls Camp, arranged by St. Gertrude the Great Church and Sodality of Charity, will be on June 27-29. Like last year, the girls who are 12 and older, can camp out at the church premises. On Tuesday, June 27, the older girls will do an outing to the local Keener Park, where they can play and take hikes in the woods. Instead of a baking contest, this year there will be a tea party, to which the girls will prepare fancy sandwiches. The older girls will do a play, and the younger girls a puppet show.
Other activities will include square-dancing and many outdoor games and crafts, including collage board, tote bags, melt-o-bead charms, and lip-balm.
THE GIRLS CAMP COMMITTEE LETTER
Dear Parents,
St. Gertrude the Great Girls’ Camp is just around the corner! It will be on June 27-29, Tuesday to Thursday. Please contact Sister Eulalia or inform the church office (parishoffice@sgg.org or 513-645-4212) with the names and ages of your girls if they plan to attend. On the first day of camp, there will be a waiver in the vestibule that needs to be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Any girl who has made her First Holy Communion is welcome to come to camp. If a girl has not made her First Communion but is 8 years of age or older, she may come as well. Camp begins on the first day, June 27, at 8:45 AM. For girls 11 and younger, their day ends with the rosary at 3:00 PM. Please note: on the first day everyone should be there by 8:45 AM, but on days two and three, the younger girls should arrive at 7:50 AM.
As we did last year, girls 12 and older will be camping-out. Tent space will be provided, but if you have a tent you could bring please contact Sister Eulalia. All meals will be provided.
Camp will end a little bit later on Thursday, June 29, as the girls will be putting on a small performance followed by the traditional Ice-cream Social. Parents and siblings are highly encouraged to attend! The performance will start approximately at 3:30 PM.
Our mindset this camp is wholesome, charitable fun, for the Love of God. Girls’ Camp is a fantastic way for young girls to meet like-minded Catholics and to grow in their faith and the Love of God. We hope they have the opportunity to make more friends and learn from each other. Some of the activities are: a puppet-show or skit, making collage boards, painting, outside games, a tea party, and much more!
We sincerely hope you girls will have fun at camp and are as excited about it as we are! Feel free to spread the word. The more the merrier! If you have any questions, concerns, or want more details, please Sister Eulalia.
God bless, and Mary keep you. Hope to see you there!
